California Reaper

Bred by legend horticulturist, Steve Bender, the California Reaper is a hybrid of the Carolina Reaper and Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion peppers. Through several growing seasons, Dr. Bender meticulously cultivated the California Reaper. Initially light green, the peppers mature into a peach hue, with most pods bearing a peach-colored resemblance to the Carolina Reaper. While the California Reaper has not undergone official testing, the Carolina Reaper typically averages 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Like its Carolina Reaper parent, the California Reaper is known for its fruity and sweet flavor profile.
